Projects
(May 2019 - May 2022)
nIoVe project is making a step-change in Europe in bringing down the number of fatalities, reducing harmful emissions from transport work and reducing congestion within urban environments. The aim of nIoVe is to detect cyber-attacks in realtime while simultaneously preventing them. Regarding the automotive market, nIoVe purpose to uptake the innovative cybersecurity solutions for the protection of all CAVs and infrastructure in the IoV network against complex cyber-attacks.
(May 2018-May 2022)
AVENUE aims to design and carry out full scale demonstrations of urban transport automation by deploying, for the first time worldwide, fleets of autonomous mini-buses.
(Sep 2019 - Mar 2023)
The frAAgiLe projects aims to be the most cost-effective solution for detection fraility level and improving it at home, without direct human intervention, only using a tablet and smartwatches. It won´t be a falls detector system, but a frailty detector one, intervening earlier to both prevent and detect frailty at home, using no extra sensors in the house and with almost no human intervention. It will provide a new, disruptive approach for combating mental and physical frailty by using video training, serious games, body recognition and tracking by a tablet and a smartwatch.
GHOST envisions a transparent cybersecurity environment by developing a user-friendly application to improve security and privacy in a Digital Home connected to Internet of Things (IoT), using the most advanced technologies available for this purpose.
The CoachMyLife project aims to improve the elderly's quality of life, by increasing his independence and providing guidance to selected activities of daily living, which will be adapted to the users' current need and context by intelligent computer methods. Our solution will train the user's memory and executive function using a technique called errorless learning, which is particularly suitable for people with memory impairment. By training the users to activities they normally do, real benefits are expected.
SPIRIT (Security and PrIvacy foR the Internet of Things) (May 2017 - Apr 2020)
As the adoption of digital technologies expands, it becomes vital to build trust and confidence in the integrity of such technology. The SPIRIT project will investigate the Proof-of Concept of employing novel secure and privacy-ensuring techniques in services set-up in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment, aiming to increase the trust of users in IoT-based systems. The proposed system will address distinct issues related to security and privacy, hence, overcoming the lack of user confidence, which inhibits utilisation of IoT technology.
QueueForMe lets users to subscribe to virtual waiting queues, for instance in airports, hospitals, or busy food trucks, and to be notified when their turn arrives. The innovation is the use of a generic machine learning algorithm applied to queue modeling, to compute the best estimated waiting time.
(Apr 2019 - Mar 2023)
LIFEBOTS Exchange aims at enhancing cross-sector, international and interdisciplinary collaboration in the area of social robotics technology. The project will particularly focus on the health and care sector, and examines how social robots can be included into people's life.
